Aerodynamic design and analysis of five stage axial compressor

Objective: To design and evaluate performance of a five stage axial compressor

Challenges: To model and analyse five stage axial flow compressor with proper interfaces

Details: As per the design specification, the axial compressor blades were designed in bladegen and mesh was generated. Further, detailed CFD studies were carried out and performance was evaluated using CFD techniques. Initial results showed good match with specification, but later design was modified for better performance and surge margin. Design modifications were parameterized and simulation was automated.

Results:  Completed axial compressor design and evaluated performance for design and off-design conditions.
