Performance evaluation of NASA stage 37 and validation with experimental results

Objective: To evaluate performance of NASA stage 37 and validation with test results.

Challenges: To extract NASA stage 37 profile coordinates and create CFD models.

Details: NASA rotor and stator 37 blade profile data were extracted from published literature and converted into TG input format. Further, mesh was generated for rotor/stator and analysed for design operating point. The boundary condition profiles were extracted from published literature and simulation was carried out. Finally, simulation results were compared with test data and validated. The variation of simulation results compared to test data was less than 4%.

Results: Completed simulation of NASA stage 37 and validated results with test data. Validation matched well with less than 4% deviation.
